Kamiya's Aburatori papers have a backing coating and are produced under high pressure to replicate the characteristics of the rare gold leaf paper used in gold leafing.

Not only do they absorb facial grease well, the gold leaf paper that is actually sandwiched between gold leaves, but they are also difficult to tear when wet and prevent the grease from seeping through to the back, thus preventing makeup from smudging.

The cover uses a bold composition based on our special gold lacquer technique paper (katsura / disorder), used for sake, handicrafts and sliding doors in temples and shrines, and inspired by Rinpa and Ukiyo-e.
